In addition, I have for some years worked as a volunteer for Community Action Dacorum carrying out photographic assignments to help publicise their events. Clicking on their name will take you to their website which explains exactly what they do, but in essence they are an umbrella organisation providing assistance, guidance and funding to a range of charities as well as setting up and finding funding for small scale enterprises.
The most recent of these is Radio Dacorum, a community internet-based radio station for the Borough of Dacorum. Asked if I was interested in buying advertising space, I jumped at the opportunity and then became involved to such an extent that I now have my own weekly show - Thursday's from 7-10pm - playing a selection of tracks that link to each other and ending on a track that has a link of some kind, usually fairly tenuous, to a person, place or thing in the surrounding area - and this may often be a local band or musician.
I also now have a website to promote my
DJ activities, which include the hire of PA and sound reinforcement
equipment in addition to a mobile disco service for weddings and
parties and compereing/hosting events. See www.purpledisco.co.uk for more information
The interview sections of relevant shows are available on my Mixcloud page. Select the interview and it will start to stream immediately.
